While it sounds like a great idea, we have these in many of the new libraries at UNC and they splash like crazy. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I have found that I need to stand at quite a distance to avoid this problem. However, it is quite possible that ours do not have this new valve. All this being said, I would like to add that the tags for this post are excellent -- except for one, which does not quite work for urinals.

I am however fascinated with these waterless toilets. I first found out about them from this sign at Walden Pond: http://www.walden-pond.net/wp60.jpg

Strangely enough, I saw one of these for the first time at Barcamp Boston. That particular one was made by falcon.

The McDonalds right by six flags in NJ has them now as well, which bodes well for the technology. If McD is rolling them out, we can expect to see a lot more of them.

Unfortunately, they still get clogged when some jackhole throws a papertowel in them!
