<description>[...] Blogger and microformats In many ways, microformats grew out of blogging. XFN, the original microformat, sought to formalize the semantics of blogrolls, while the earliest of adopters of hCard and rel-tag in particular were bloggers. Blogging systems like WordPress, MoveableType and others have plugins for creating microformatted content, and in the case of WordPress native support for XFN. Now the grand daddy (of sorts) of blogging systems, Blogger, is having a major overhaul of the code it produces, and as extensively discussed by Chris Messina at his blog and the Blogger Help Group, this presents a great opportunity for Blogger to adopt appropriate microformats, including hCard, XFN, hCalendar, and hAtom. So if you have any sway with folks at Blogger, or other thoughts about helping Blogger support microformats, then get involved, j Technorati Tags: microformats blogger hcard hcalendar XFN This entry was written by Blake Elshire and posted on September 3, 2006 at 4:33 pm and filed under Microformats.
