According to the official explanation posted to my blogger dashboard by the staff, the OpenID feature applies only to commenting. Yes it is out of beta, available on all blogs not just "Blogger Draft". Still it is only enable for commenting and only as an opt-in feature. My issue is mainly that as the blog owner I still cannot login to my Blogger account with OpenID. The Google ID is still required. I think your headline is a little misleading.
