Network discrimination is basically the equivalent of creating a first class seating section on the internet. And I hate the whole first class/stearage thing. JetBlue succeeds in part because it did away with this hierarchical system. Why should the net go backwards?
I’m not sure if I agree or disagree with you here, but one comment I have to bring up is, data doesnt have feelings. It isn’t more “aware” of priority than it needs to be. For that reason, couldnt prioritizing data streams be a good thing, for efficiency’s sake? Kinda like handicapped parking. Sure, those spots would be great for everyone because we’re lazy as humans (or there’s no other parking left) but that little bit of dedicated space closer to the front for someone who might otherwise need to struggle to get through makes their job that much easier.
Again, I’m not sure I even have an opinion on this topic yet, since i’m still reading alot about it, I’m just being thoughtful (as you were).
