Apparently mod_security is really aggressive around certain words (like in my previous post). To get around this, add SecFilterEngine off to your .htaccess file. You might not want to leave that snippet in there long, since it disables the security check, but if you find WordPress denying you the ability to post, it’s worth a shot.

Preggers, Mac-style
Perhaps it’s serendipity, I dunno, but there were two fertility and pregnancy tracking apps released in the past couple days. Is it just me, or should we consider them twins?
Safari on Windows? Not like I called that
Mary Jo Foley points out that in the Firefox 3 feature plans, there’s a statement under “Observations & Assumptions” section that reads read “Apple may have Safari on Windows with likely ties to iTunes & .Mac”. No, really?
WordPress 2.0.6 out, last release before 2.1

WriteRoom 2.0 released

Blake Ross on Google’s trustworthiness
I made similar points a few months ago, back then about Google’s authentication apparatus. Now Blake is suggesting that a similar fiasco is unfolding with Google’s new “Tips” feature, calling it “a new kind of bundling”. What do you think? Monopoly practices or playing fair?
WP Tiger Administration 3.0 is out
Don’t miss it! Steve Smith has released v3.0 of his WP Tiger AdministrationWordPress Plugin. Hotness!
Would you like Google Java with that?
Google has open sourced its Google Web Toolkit under the Apache 2.0 license. This is great news for Java-based web developers… but for other folks who prefer PHP and Rails, I’m not sure what to make of it. I do have to admit, their announcement and all the pieces of it make for a great example of a textbook launch of a new open source initiative.
+1 to Niall Kennedy
Looks like Niall meted out some digital justice to Teh Borg (NSFW) today. Right on dude.
