I would be _PISSED_ if I lost my 2,000+ comments.
Welcome back!
Um, we don’t ever touch your stuff without being asked to do so. Put in a ticket and we’ll take a look, but I don’t like the implied blame.
Hey Ryan, I did file a ticket. And there is implied blame because at least before I filed the ticket, all I was suffering from was database corruption — presumably not data loss.
After the restore was done, I lost three weeks worth of comments. And the corruption problem persisted after they’d done the restore — so that I lost everything — including my posts and my comments. Now while, sure, this was a problem that could be easily remedied by repairing the tables, this technique at first didn’t work. And repeated pleas to your “ticketing” system went unheard.
For your benefit I’ve posted the transcript of my support experience. So Ryan, next time you presume that I didn’t follow procedure before calling in question a service I use, please check your ticket queue.
Just say the words and I can hook you up with a rocketship of a server at (mt).
I got tired of the problems at TextDrive and moved very happily to SegPub. The support is a lot better and they seem to be never down and it is cheaper by paying in Aussie Dollars.
Um, i was going to move all my “digital life” to Textdrive, but not now…
I am runnin’away from these kind of service quality (ex-ViaNetWorks) and i was reading a lot from TextDrive. Since it is expensive i was going towards them. Um, not now!
I’ll move to Media Temple ? Hope its a wise decision.
