Coworking NYC; reclaiming the sidewalks

Proposal hilights

Protest posterNoel has the details on a pretty ridiculous rule change on sidewalk usage and parade definition in NYC. In response, there’s been a protest called Aug 23.

At the same time, Noel’s kickin’ up dust about getting a CoworkingNYC space started up in the Big Apple. He’s proposed a meeting coming up soon, so drop him a note (noel at nonecknoel dot com) and let him know that you’re interested.

  1. chris, thanks for the post!

yeah! two people = a protest!?!?

what really drives me mad is the fact this is not a law. the NYPD has created a directive and if the past is any indicator of the future, this is will be selective enforcement. people and bicycles are not the enemy…

don’t you think it would be great if you and your family could walk down the street and not have to be worried about being considered a protest? if you think i’m kidding read the NYPD directive – http://www.transalt.org/e-bulletin/2006/July/images/NYPD_parade_permit_rule_change_proposal.pdf

then tell your friends and family to stand together on Aug 23!
